Revelation 6
Revelation 1:3 ESV
[3] Blessed is the one who reads
aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep
what is written in it, for the time is near.
Reminding
us that it's a blessing for those who read, hear and keep his word, when we are
informed of what is to come and so we should not be scared but count it as a
blessing and so prepare.
REVELATION 6: 9 When He opened
the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been
slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they
held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice,
saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and
avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then
a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that
they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who
would be killed as they were, was
completed.
When we
read revelation chapter 6 1 – 8 this is talking about the birth pains, Matthew
24 reminds us that all these are the SIGNS of his coming and for that we are
not to be deceived and not troubled for all of this will come to past and we
are to endure until the end.
Mathew 24 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of
Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when
will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your
coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to
them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many
will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive
many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumours
of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must
come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation
will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will
be famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in
various places. 8 All these are the
beginning of sorrows.
this
pattern will repeat until the kingdom of God covers the earth and now we can
see its accelerating , in revelation 5 we read no one else is worthy to open
the scroll except for Jesus, in order for his kingdom to come we need to do our
part, obey and do what we have been
called to do preach his gospel in all the world and as witness to all nation.
Mathew 24
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the
kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and
then the end will come.
This
chapter also reminds us that we WILL go through persecution, tribulation and we
can also see that those who died in faith are alive in heaven, conscious and in
a state of rest, given their white robe, while awaiting their final
resurrection.
Israel Rejects the Gospel
Romans 10 14 How then shall
they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in
Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a
preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they
are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who [b]preach the
gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
16 But they have
not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our
report?” 17 So then faith comes by
hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Reflection
As we are singing, praying and declaring for
Jesus to come are we obeying putting all we are saying into actions?
Are we preparing walking in faith and hope even
when the situation doesn’t look too good?
How is my spiritual condition?
As a co-worker of the kingdom, am I preaching His
Gospel of the kingdom and being his witness to the lost?
How can I
prepare myself to be spiritually ready?
*Deepen my faith and knowledge of his word and
who I am in him by being equipped, reading and meditating.
*Walking in the spirit and truth in Repentance
and Holiness and obedience
* Cultivating Endurance through praying and
fasting, and be strengthened during times of trial and tribulations
*Be watchful and do not fear
*Trusting in Jesus victorious plan for those who
believe and obey.
