2 Corinthians 3
contrasts the old covenant of the Law with the new covenant of the Spirit. Paul explains that true transformation does not come from rules written on stone, but from the Holy Spirit writing God’s truth on human hearts. This chapter is about glory, freedom, and transformation in Christ.
Paul discussed that
v1-3 - WE ARE THE EPISTLES (be the epistles of Christ)
- We must be a living letter of commendation.
- True credential - OUR CHANGED LIFE (miraculously changed life not the miraculous signs)
- Our FRUIT - is our testimony
- When other people people read our life - what do they read?
- True ministry is changed lives not just religious activity.
- The gospel is meant to be seen not to be heard.
- Is our life commending Christ or demeaning Christ?
v 4-6 BE SUFFICIENT IN CHRIST
- our human ability is not enough
- The Spirit gives power to live a transformed life
- Christianity is not self-effort, it is SPIRIT DEPENDENCE
- We will never be worthy or ready for the Great task the Lord has given us (changing lives) but our sufficiency in Christ will make us worthy.
Let us reflect:
We are the only bible, the world will read,
We are the Gospel, the sinners will see.
We are the Lord's last message, that must inspire and change lives.
Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for the new covenant in Christ.
Remove every veil that blinds my heart.
Help me depend not on my strength, but on Your Spirit.
Transform me as I behold Your glory,
and let my life be a living letter that points others to You.
Where Your Spirit is, let there be freedom in me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
