2 Timothy 4
1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5But as for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
PREACHING in Greek is KERUSSO which means to act as a messenger, herald, to publicly proclaim, to announce, or to publish.
As Christians, we are all called to preach, share, tell others the gospel, to declare the divine truth, call people for repentance, and proclaim the gift of salvation focusing on the message of a crucified and risen Savior, our Lord Jesus.
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16 :15
All believers are God’s messengers – we may have different calling - but all have one mission – to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
GOD’S MESSENGER IN A MISSION
📣 MISSION TO PREACH THE WORD WITH URGENCY
V2 - This is a very serious instruction for all believers to share the Gospel with urgency and readiness. A call to every Christian that is extremely important and a call to do it.
Whether the time seems right or not, the truth of Christ's resurrection and salvation must be proclaimed. Let this be a reminder to seize every opportunity to share the Good News, knowing that the Word of God is living and active.
And so preach

1 Peter 3:15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect
‼️MISSION TO STAND FIRM AGAINST FALSE TEACHINGS
V3-4 - a powerful reminder to hold fast to the truth of Scripture, discerning and rejecting teachings that deviate from the Gospel. Equip yourself with the Word, so you can stand firm against deception and guide others back to the truth.

❌ because someone will preach unsound doctrine
❌ because someone will preach to entertain
Ephesians 4:14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
📖 MISSION TO FULFILL OUR MINISTRY
V5 - each of us has a unique calling and purpose in God's kingdom. Embrace your role with diligence and perseverance, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Whether your ministry is in the church, your workplace, or your home, fulfill it with passion and faithfulness.

🙏 God is honored, God is glorified
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Have you responded to the preaching of God's Word? Let us respond in obedience.
Romans 6: 17-18 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.
Ultimately, it is our duty and privilege to share the gospel as it represents our faith and obedience to our God and to His will.
Prayer
Lord, strengthen us that we may stay true to the Word of God, standing firm in the face of opposition, and fulfilling the ministry You have entrusted to us. Help us heed to Your word Lord, to preach the gospel faithfully, to correct with love, and remain steadfast in our faith as we navigate a world increasingly hostile to biblical truth, knowing that our labor in the Lord is never in vain.
