HEBREWS 4 - ENTERING GOD’S REST

ENTERING GOD’S REST

HEBREWS 4 exhorts believers to enter God’s rest- a state of salvation, peace, and security in Christ- by faith, warning against the disobedience and unbelief that kept the Israelites from the Promise Land.

ENTER GOD’S REST- with a PROMISE

4 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.

The promise that still stands is the promise of salvation through Jesus Christ.

JESUS is the one who makes the promise of rest possible.

He says in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Through His death and resurrection, He opened the way for us to experience GOD’S TRUE REST-both now and forever.

God’s love is shown in that the promise of rest “still stands.” He didn’t close the door even after generations failed. He continues to invite people in. His heart is for us to find peace, joy, and life with Him.

ENTER GOD’S REST- with FAITH as the Key

For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.

Faith isn’t just believing that something is true-it’s trusting in it and acting on it. The Israelites heard God’s promises, but they didn’t mix that hearing with real trust, so they didn’t obey. Because of that, they missed out on what God had for them. The same warning applies to us today: hearing the gospel isn’t what saves a person. It must be received with a heart of faith that leads to obedience.

  ENTER GOD’S REST- with DILIGENCE

11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

Yes, salvation is a free gift from God, and our response is important. We are not saved by works, but we are called to actively trust, obey, and persevere. Why? So “that no one will fall by following their [the Israelites’] example of disobedience”. Entering God’s rest is not passive. It requires that we keep believing, keep following, and keep resisting the pull of sin and unbelief.

When Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30), He completed the work of salvation. We no longer have to strive to earn God’s favor. In Christ, we rest-not because we’ve done enough, but because He has.

 Questions for reflection:

  1.  What does “God’s rest” mean to you personally?
  2.  What does it mean for you to “make every effort to enter” God’s rest?

  1. How does the example of the Israelites in the wilderness serve as a warning to you?
  2. In what ways can you encourage others to stay strong in their walk with God?

To enter God’s rest is not to stop living faithfully but to stop striving as though everything depends on us.

God’s rest is a place where obedience flows, hope is our anchor, and peace becomes our posture – because God is already at work.

Lord teach us to rest in what you have done, and to live diligently and faithfully from the rest in trust and hope. Amen.

HEBREWS 3 - “DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS”

HEBREWS 3

“DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS”

12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”     -Hebrews 3:12-15

Have you experienced hardness of heart towards God? ..to a point of losing sensitivity to God’s voice?

-when He speaks, you would not listen.

-when He commands, you would not want to do/obey.

-when He gives advice, you seldom keep it.

-when He rebukes, you would not want to reflect on it.

-when He calls, you went missing to do other things.

-when He reveals things, you take it with little importance.

-when He tells you His will and what’s right and wrong, you still do your own ways.

This is already sinning, a disobedience, a rebellion, stubbornness and irreverence towards God. For who is the One speaking, isn’t He the True Living God? He whom all creation submits to and worships and whom you’ve professed as your Lord and Savior and who indeed gives you spiritual and physical blessings in this life and in the life to come.

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.  -1Samuel 15:23a

10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ 11 As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’”    -Hebrews 3:10-11

Sin deceives, tells lies to the heart that makes the heart hardened towards God,

-Sin says that God is not worth believing, untrustworthy that His promises will not come true and if it does it’s not worth the sacrifice of our comfort, time, resources, reputation etc, leading to an unbelieving heart

-Sin says that evil is more desirable than God’s promises, it promises temporary and deceitful form of happiness and gives reasons why not to obey/listen to God and tempts to prefer evil than good leading to an evil heart.

12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.   -Hebrews 3:12-13

As Christians let’s be vigilant against evil, unbelief and hardness of heart that led many believers to fall away, backslide and turn away from God. Let us exhort one another about what is true, that God is trustworthy, that evil things are not to be preferred even when temptations of sin, that the promises of God are better than the deceitful promises of sin. Let’s speak to one another of God’s word and of our personal testimonies about God in our lives so that we would encourage one another to hold fast, remain strong and be firm to the end as partakers in Christ Jesus.

Let it be that when God speaks, we listen to His voice and do our best to obey with trust, for all He says and ways are good, He gives strength and power in our weakness and gives victory for His will in our lives, in others and in His works that He has prepared for us to do. Let us not harden our hearts instead we be joyful for we are so blessed, able to hear from God.

15 As it is said, Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”     -Hebrews 3:15

Hebrews 1 : HE MADE PURIFICATION OF SINS

Hebrews 1:3 NASB
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
"When He Had Made Purification of Sins"
§  Not we.
§  Not religion.
§  Not effort.
§  He.
It’s     Jesus…….

"When He Had Made Purification of Sins"

§  Sin is not just something we do —
  • It is something that stains.

§  Because sin separates us from a holy God.
Isaiah 59:2“Your iniquities have separated you from your God.”
  • Sin is not a small issue.
  • It is a spiritual contamination.

THREE THINGS ABOUT SIN
1.     Sin is Rooted in Unbelief (Hebrews 3:17-19)
2.     There's Disobedience. (Romans 5:19)
3.     God Is Angry with Sin. (Hebrews 3:17-19)

-       He, and He alone was the Redeemer.

-       Jesus Christ is the revealer of God to man and Redeemer of man to God.

"When He Had Made Purification of Sins"

A.    It Was Personal

He did it Himself.

No angel could do it.

No prophet could do it.

No priest could permanently do it.

Only the Son of God.

B.     It Was Complete

The phrase is past tense.

“It is finished.” (John 19:30)

The debt is paid.

The stain is removed.

The sacrifice is sufficient.

Hebrews 1:3 NASB

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

*   Seated at the right hand of Majesty means:

ü Authority

ü Victory

ü Completion

PHILEMON 1 - GRACE THAT RESTORES WHAT WAS BROKEN

GRACE THAT RESTORES WHAT WAS BROKEN

Ang Book of Philemon ay maikli- isang chapter lang -but it speaks loudly about grace, forgiveness and restoration.

Ang kwento ay tungkol kina Paul, Philemon at Onesimus.

Si Onesimus ay isang slave, tumakas, may pagkukulang,ay kasalanan.

Si Philemon naman ay nasaktan, may karapatan, may dahilan para maningil.

But somewhere along Onesimus’ journey he encountered Christ through Paul.

Paul send Onesimus back —— not as property but as a brother - in - Christ.

Sabi ni Paul sa verse 15.

“For perhaps he departed for a while for this purpose, that you might receive him forever, “

Hindi rin ibig sabihin na tama ang ginawa—— But God can redeem the space in between.

May mga “for a while” moments ang buhay natin—-seasons of distance

      Silence

      Unanswered questions

Pero pwedeng gamitin ng Diyos ang mga panahong iyon para baguhin ang ating puso, hindi lang ang sitwasyon.

Madaling sabihing. “I forgive you”

Pero ang tanong ng Philemon ay mas malalim.

—-Handa ka bang tanggapin ang taong nanakit sa yo bilang binago na ng Diyos?

Grace is not denial of pain. Grace is choosing restoration Kahit may cost.

Daily Application:

Sometimes , the clearest evidence of the gospel is not in how well we speak about Jesus, but in how we love when it cost us something.

Ang Philemon ay paalala na ang tunay na Christianity ay hindi lang about personal salvation, kundi restored relationships.

The grace we received from Christ is the same grace we are called to extend ——-even when it’s hard —- even when it’s painful —- even when it’s inconvenient.

Because restored lives often begin with restored relationships

Prayer 🙏

Lord Jesus, thank you for the grace You have shown us in Christ.

Teach us to extend that same grace to others, even when it is hard.

Heal what is broken, soften our hearts and help us choose love over pride.

May your grace restore our relationships and reflect your gospel through our lives.

In Jesus name. Amen

TITUS 3 - A REMINDER OF GOD’S GRACE

TITUS 3

We are a changed person when we encountered Jesus. There can be no way that we receive God’s gift of salvation and remain living as we formerly lived. By His grace alone, God raised us from being dead in sins, gave us a new heart, and a new life.

But the world, the flesh and the devil tries to pull us back and so we need to be reminded of how God’s grace has taken hold of our lives.

A REMINDER OF GOD’S GRACE

Titus 3:1-2 – 1Remind God’s people to obey rulers and authorities. Remind them to be ready to do what is good. 2Tell them not to speak evil things against anyone. Remind them to live in peace. They must consider the needs of others. They must always be gentle toward everyone.

✝️ REMEMBER THAT WE ARE CHRIST WITNESSES IN THIS SINFUL WORLD

Grace-filled people are Christ-like people.

We live in a world that exalts sin and rejects God. This is why the sinful world needs desperately the gospel of Christ, which alone can change human hearts and transform lives. We must then live godly lives in this ungodly world and excel in good works that display God’s grace.

❇️ God’s grace empowers us to live a life that mirrors Christ, that our changed lives is a living testimony that provide the platform that points unbelievers to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Titus 3:3 At one time we too acted like fools. We didn’t obey God. We were tricked. We were controlled by all kinds of desires and pleasures. We were full of evil. We wanted what belongs to others. People hated us, and we hated one another.

✝️ REMEMBER THAT WE WERE ONCE LIKE THE SINFUL PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD

Grace-filled people are patient and compassionate people.

Instead of easily getting upset and irritated with unbelievers who act stubborn and selfish, we want to behave as godly people towards them. We then need to remember that, before we met Christ, we acted in the same manner that these people do. This reminds us of our past so we can appreciate God’s grace in our present lives.

❇️ God’s grace transforms hearts and minds enabling us to turn away from ungodliness and to share and treat ungodly people with love and compassion.

Titus 3:4-7 4But the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared. 5He saved us. It wasn’t because of the good things we had done. It was because of his mercy. He saved us by washing away our sins. We were born again. The Holy Spirit gave us new life. 6God poured out the Spirit on us freely. That’s because of what Jesus Christ our Savior has done. 7His grace made us right with God. So now we have received the hope of eternal life as God’s children.

✝️ REMEMBER THAT WE ARE CHANGED BY GOD’S KINDNESS AND MERCY TO THIS WORLD

Grace-filled people are humble and grateful people.

God’s kindness, love, and mercy is the cause of our salvation. There is nothing in us deserving of it but we deserve God’s wrath. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. Through God’s mercy, by His grace, not by our own deeds, we are saved and renewed by the Holy Spirit. Remembering this keeps us humble and grateful.

❇️ God’s grace saves us and uses us to fulfill His purpose on earth and this is not as a result of anything we have done but simply because of His love, kindness and mercy through His grace.

❤️‍🔥 May God’s glory shines through our lives in such a way that others see Jesus in us and are drawn to His grace. May we always be a reflection of the goodness of God’s transforming love and grace. 🙏

Titus 2 - A HEALTHY CHURCH IS A LEARNING CHURCH

Paul specifically left Titus in Crete to “put what remained into order” (Titus 1:5).

When church becomes out of order. It becomes chaotic and unhealthy. Professed to know the truth, but their knowledge of the truth did not accord with godliness.

Their doctrines had no impact on their duties!

They professed the gospel, but their lives looked more like the world around them than Christ. And the reason for their lack of health, was that they were being led by unhealthy leaders!

-          A Healthy Church begins with Healthy Leaders.

-          A Healthy Church is an All Play. It requires ALL of us to learn and be able to teach eventually. It is the work for everyone.

-          Want a healthy church?.......appoint elders. But don’t stop there. You also need to TEACH.

·       Because, others (1:10), the insubordinate, and empty talkers are upsetting whole families. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit. They are unhealthy, and their teaching is making the church unhealthy!

·       So teach! Combat their false teaching, by teaching with truth.

·      But by teaching what? “what accords with sound doctrine.”

While others distort the truth or live inconsistently, Titus is called to be different—faithful, clear, and courageous.

Faithful ministry often means standing apart from error.

Teaching is not optional for a leader. It is a responsibility and calling.
But Paul emphasizes what kind of teaching—not just information, but formation.

“What is appropriate to sound doctrine”

  • Sound doctrine means healthy teaching

  • It is truth that leads to godly living

  • Doctrine that does not transform behavior is not truly sound

Paul will immediately show (Titus 2:2–10) that sound doctrine shapes:

  • character
  • relationships
  • work ethic
  • daily conduct

Sound doctrine produces sound lives.

Titus 2:1 teaches that truth and life must agree.

Right belief must result in right behavior.

Doctrine that stays in the head but never reaches the heart is incomplete.

Let us reflect:

  • What I teach — does it promote Christlike living?

  • What I believe — does it shape how I speak and act?

  • What I confess — does it align with my daily life?

-        In a culture of confusion and compromise, God calls His servants to teach healthy truth that heals lives, not popular ideas that please ears.

The goal of teaching is not applause, but obedience.

Titus 1 - THE LIP SERVICE

WHEN FAITH IS ONLY ON THE LIPS 👄

May mga moments talaga na ang lakas nating mg confess.

Ang dali magsabi ng tama.

Pero kung magiging honest lang. minsan mahina ang transformation.

Sabi sa Titus 1:16

“They profess to know God, but by their works they deny Him. “

Ang bigat ng verse na ito.

Hindi sya harsh ——

Totoo lang

At kapag Totoo, Talagang tumatama.

Sa panahon ngayon, madali na talagang magsabi ng “ Christian ako”

Madali mag share ng sermon

Madali mg post ng Bible verse

Madali magsabi ng “Praise the Lord”

Pero minsan , doon lang siya natatapos ——-sa labi

Kaya napapaisip ako:

Kapag pagod na ako,

Kapag may conflict,

Kapag na - trigger na,

Kapag walang nakakakita……

Kita pa rin ba si Cristo sa akin?

Sa paraan ba ng pag - react ko?

Sa choices ko kapag may short cut or

Sa attitude ko kapag hindi ako nasusunod?

Sabi ng bible, sa Colossians 1:10

“Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruits 🍎

Ang tunay na pananampalataya may bunga.

Hindi lang sa magandang salita

Hindi lang sa tamang theology

May pagbabago talagang kasama.

May evidence.

Kaya itong Titus 1:16 becomes a gentle but honest heart check for me.

A TRUE CONFESSION OF FAITH ALWAYS LEADS TO A TRANSFORMED LIFE.

Prayer 🙏

Heavenly Father, we confess that there are moments when our lips say we know You, but our lives fail to reflect You.

Forgive us when our faith becomes words only,

When our confession is loud. But our obedience is weak. Cleanse our hearts from hypocrisy, and renew us from the inside out. Teach us to live what we believe—- that our actions would honor You, our character would point to You. And about daily choices would glorify You.

May our faith be seen, not just spoken. Transform us so that knowing You is evident in the way we love , serve and obey.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

2 Timothy 4 - RESPONDING IN OBEDIENCE

2 Timothy 4

1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5But as for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

PREACHING in Greek is KERUSSO which means to act as a messenger, herald, to publicly proclaim, to announce, or to publish.

As Christians, we are all called to preach, share, tell others the gospel, to declare the divine truth, call people for repentance, and proclaim the gift of salvation focusing on the message of a crucified and risen Savior, our Lord Jesus.

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16 :15

All believers are God’s messengers – we may have different calling - but all have one mission – to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

GOD’S MESSENGER IN A MISSION

📣 MISSION TO PREACH THE WORD WITH URGENCY

V2 -  This is a very serious instruction for all believers to share the Gospel with urgency and readiness. A call to every Christian that is extremely important and a call to do it.

Whether the time seems right or not, the truth of Christ's resurrection and salvation must be proclaimed. Let this be a reminder to seize every opportunity to share the Good News, knowing that the Word of God is living and active.

And so preach

🫥 even noone seems to listen

🫥 even nothing seems to happen

1 Peter 3:15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect

‼️MISSION TO STAND FIRM AGAINST FALSE TEACHINGS

V3-4 - a powerful reminder to hold fast to the truth of Scripture, discerning and rejecting teachings that deviate from the Gospel. Equip yourself with the Word, so you can stand firm against deception and guide others back to the truth.

Stand firm

❌ because someone will preach unsound doctrine

❌ because someone will preach to entertain

Ephesians 4:14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

📖 MISSION TO FULFILL OUR MINISTRY

V5 - each of us has a unique calling and purpose in God's kingdom. Embrace your role with diligence and perseverance, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Whether your ministry is in the church, your workplace, or your home, fulfill it with passion and faithfulness.

Fulfill your calling

🙏 God sees, God knows

🙏 God is honored, God is glorified

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Have you responded  to the preaching of God's Word? Let us respond in obedience.

Romans 6: 17-18 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.

Ultimately, it is our duty and privilege to share the gospel as it represents our faith and obedience to our God and to His will.

Prayer

Lord, strengthen us that we may stay true to the Word of God, standing firm in the face of opposition, and fulfilling the ministry You have entrusted to us. Help us heed to Your word Lord, to preach the gospel faithfully, to correct with love, and remain steadfast in our faith as we navigate a world increasingly hostile to biblical truth, knowing that our labor in the Lord is never in vain.

In Jesus name, Amen 🙏

2 Timothy 3 - BE THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED

SCRIPTURE- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

OBSERVATION

The WORD of GOD stands apart from all other writings because it is not  a product of human wisdom or invention. It is God—Breathed, carrying divine authority that transcends time and culture (2Timothy 3:16). The divine inspiration means every part of Scripture is rooted in God’s character and purpose for His people.

God has given His Word with clear  purposes to shape us into who he calls to be. First it serves as a foundation for doctrine, teaching us the truth about God, His plan of salvation and how we are to live. Jesus Himself prayed that His followers would be sanctified by the truth, declaring “Your word is truth (John 17:17). Second, Scripture provides reproof, exposing error and falsehood that can lead us astray; the Word is described as living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), cutting through deception to reveal what is right. Third it offers correction, gently restoring those who have fallen or wandered from the path of righteousness just as the apostle Paul urged the Galatians to restore those caught in sin with humility and gentleness (Galatians 6:1). Finally, it gives instruction in righteousness, training believers to walk in holiness and align their lives with God’s will: as Psalm 119:105 reminds us- Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, guiding every step we take.

The ultimate outcome of engaging with Scripture is Transformation-equipping believers to be complete and fully prepared for every good work God has planned for them which aligns with Ephesians 2:10 which says we are “created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. This Word empowers us to step into that purpose.

APPLICATION

For me, Scripture can not  be just an optional resource I turn to occasionally. It must be my daily nourishment, just as Jesus declared “ Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4) . Just as our bodies need food each day to stay strong, our spirits depend on the Word to grow in faith and maturity.

There will be times when I drift from what is right, whether through carelessness, temptation, or misunderstanding. In those moments, God’s word is the tool that brings me back to truth. I must learn to humbly accept its rebuke and correction, knowing that it comes from a place of love. James 1:22-25 encourages us not  just to hear the Word but to do what it says, warning that those who ignore its guidance deceive themselves.

Most importantly, applying Scripture to my life makes me a living testimony to Christ’s character. Colossians 3:16-17 calls us to let the Word dwell in us richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom- and as I do this, my actions will reflect His love, patience, and grace to those around me.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word- divinely inspired and full of life. Teach me to love Scripture deeply to open my heart to its truth, and to accepts its correction with humility rather than pride. Help me walk in its ways daily, letting it shape my thoughts, words, and actions.

Bless the entire JCRC family as we journey together in faith. May your Word unite us, strengthen our bonds of fellowship, and equip each one of us to serve faithfully in every area of life. Help us to encourage and sharpen one another, to live righteously as reflections of Christ, and to support each other through every season.

May your Word equip me and my JCRC brothers and sisters to shine your light in every good work You have prepared for us. Strengthen us all to be doers of the Word, not just hearers, so that our collective witness may bring glory to Your name. All these I pray in the mighty name of Jesus and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit , AMEN.

2 TIMOTHY 2 - STAND STRONG, PASS IT ON

SCRIPTURE- 2 TIMOTHY 2:1-3

“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”

OBSERVATION

In these verses, Paul exhorts Timothy not just as a mentee,  but as family in Christ- reminding us that strength is not self-generated, but rooted in the grace of Jesus   (Philippians 4:13 ) This grace is not for us alone: we are called to entrust God’s truth to faithful brothers and sisters who will carry it forward, echoing the Great Commission to make disciples ( Matthew 28: 19-20). Like soldiers serving alongside their unit, we are called to endure trials together- with discipline, loyalty to Christ, and perseverance that fixes our gaze on Him ( Hebrews 12:1-2) . In the context of our JCRC family, for me it means we do not walk the faith journey in isolation; we strengthen and we equip one another.

APPLICATION

In my day to day life, I must rely on God’s grace , not my own wisdom or strength, especially in ministry and leadership. I am called to pass on what I learn—whether in school, church, or community—to others who can continue the mission. Teaching is not just about knowledge, but about forming faithful disciples. Like a soldier, I must expect challenges and hardships, but remain focused on the mission of Christ. My endurance is a testimony of faith. This reminds me that my role is not only to serve but also to equip others to serve, multiplying the work of the Kingdom.

In JCRC, let us be a community where we encourage each other, hold one another accountable and work side-by-side like good soldiers of Christ knowing that every act of service and every word of teaching strengthen our collective witness.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father thank you for the gift of your grace that sustains me, and for our JCRC family-our brothers and sisters who walk alongside us in faith. Forgive us when we rely on our own strength instead of leaning on You, or when we keep Your truth to ourselves instead of sharing it freely.

Help each of us to be strong in Your Grace, to be faithful stewards of what we have learned, and to raise up more laborers for Your harvest. Give us courage to endure hardships together, with unity and unwavering trust in You. Teach us Father to love one another as You love us, so that our lives may reflect Your Truth and draw others into Your kingdom. All these I pray in the mighty name of Jesus and the leadings of the Holy Spirit. AMEN

2 Timothy 1 - LIVING BOLDLY IN FAITH

 Living boldly in faith

2 Timothy 1:7 TPT

[7] For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.

To  live boldly in faith.

1. Know and Understand that God has not given us a spirit of fear but He gave us His Spirit - Holy Spirit- the same Holy Spirit who raised Him from the dead is the same Holy Spirit in us.

2. Always remember what is given to us:

- Spirit of Power - that enables us to be His witnesses to proclaim the gospel and perform miracles.

1 John 4:13-14 NIV

[13] This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us His Spirit. [14] And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

-Spirit of Love - it contrasts with fear

1 John 4:18 NIV

[18] There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

- Spirit of Self-control/self discipline- to resist temptation, able to make wise decisions and live righteously

3.  Walk in what He has given us(Spirit of power, of love, and of self discipline)

I praise God for this Verse.

I started speak with confidence kanina.

Kaya sinabi din ni Paul na Verse 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into a flame the gift of God.

The gift has already been given to us and it's in us, kailangan nating i-intensified pa lalo ito, kailangan ma saturate tlaga ang isip natin ng truth at  isagawa natin ito,   sa gayon lubusan nating maganap ang layunin ng Kanyang kaloob.

All Glory to God😇

1 TIMOTHY 6 - "WE STAND, CONTEND TILL THE END"

1 TIMOTHY 6, THE LAST CHAPTER

In writing, the conclusion or last chapter holds a very crucial, intense, and deep content. It's the part that leaves an impact, recaps the main points, gives final thoughts, and recommends future actions.

In the same way, Paul's letter reiterates the main points about conduct in God's household, godliness, and against false teachers and doctrines.

A. "WE STAND, CONTEND TILL THE END"

Paul instructed us, as members of God's household, to give honor to our earthly masters, show full respect, work diligently, serve happily, and be honest at work. You may be a student, child, or employee - whatever you're doing, there's still someone above you. Let them see Jesus in your work and the way you work. In this way, they will glorify God's Name and won't criticize our teaching. People will judge who God is and what the Bible teaches based on how we believers conduct ourselves as workers. Remember, we labor for people, but serve the Lord.

Colossians 3:23-24

In all the work you are given, do the best you can. Work as though you are working for the Lord, not any earthly master. Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, who will give you what he promised his people. Yes, you are serving Christ. He is your real Master.

At the place where we work, do they see Jesus in us? Are we leading them to Jesus?

B. WE STAND STRONG AGAINST FALSE TEACHERS AND DOCTRINES (Verses 3-5)

Paul warned Timothy, just like in the first chapter, about false teachers and doctrines that come and will come to create division, argument, and eventually destroy the church and the core message of the gospel. He warned him to flee from them, to withdraw from them, and to be on guard as they creep in, both privately and publicly.

False teachers with their false doctrines promote:

- Doctrines contrary to the teaching of Jesus

- They twist the Word of God and reduce its power to live a holy life for their own personal gain. They equate having more money/wealth with divine favor, spiritual maturity, and godliness. They see religion as a fast way to get money (2 Peter 2:3 also tells us about this).

- They remove Jesus as the ultimate authority to live a holy and saved life.

- And they lessen the doctrine of the FEAR OF GOD. To teach that there is no fear of God would be leading people away from the Holy Spirit.

"Satan is not against good morals; he's opposed to Jesus Christ. A man can have good morals his entire life, yet you and I know that he will go to hell when he dies. It is Jesus Christ that everyone needs, and the devil knows this." - Time Changer movie

Leaders must be vigilant about this, be ready to protect and defend the teaching of Christ, and ensure that the sheep are not led astray by false doctrines. BE EQUIPPED, BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT, SOAK IN THE WORD AND IN PRAYER. STAND YOUR GROUND IN CHRIST AND BE FAITHFUL.

To all believers, be rooted in truth, in the Word. Don't spend time on silly stories that don't agree with God's Truth; rather, pursue godly wisdom through prayer and study the Bible.

Be discerning at all times, knowing what is of God. Train yourself to live a life that honors and pleases God.

C. WE STAND AGAINST TEMPTATION (Verses 6-10, 17-19)

Wealth and power create a false sense of security and protection. Godliness brings great gain when accompanied by contentment. Paul urges believers to find satisfaction in God's provision rather than in material wealth. Things on earth cannot be trusted and are temporary, so do not chase after them. Instead, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Do good, be rich in good deeds, be generous, and willing to share, so we don't fall into the trap and be deceived.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." - Matthew 6:19-20

Let's evaluate our motives for pursuing godliness: is it for spiritual growth or personal/financial gain? How's our heart when we don't have something we want? How's our heart when we have everything we want?

D. WE STAND OUR GROUND & CONTEND TILL THE END (Verses 11-16; 20-21)

This is a battle. It involves struggle, effort, and perseverance. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT. Raise your banner high and take charge in the presence of God against all evil and its schemes. Don't be afraid, don't be discouraged. YOU KNOW WHO'S GOT YOUR BACK - JESUS.

God fights many battles but keeps no record of defeat. Even death could not hold Him down. Stand on SOLID GROUND, take hold of eternal life, and guard what was committed to our trust (THE GOSPEL).

When are we going to stop fighting the good fight? Is it when we reach 5 years, 10, 60 in service/ministry? No, we fight till the end, till our last breath, till the coming of Jesus Christ our King 👑. Maranatha, Lord Jesus 👑.

And when we fight, we don't fight to win; we fight to stand firm in the victory that's already ours through Jesus, His death, and resurrection. We are not trying to win the war; we are defending our ground as victors.

I pray that God's grace will be with us all. AMEN."
