Acts 3 - Newness of Life in Christ

Newness of Life in Christ

There's newness of life to all who encounters Christ. It is a testimony that each Christian have that testifies that God is real & that His words are true.

In Acts chapter 3,

a) from a man who cannot walk & lives his life sitting begging for money to a man who can now walk & praises God

 Acts 3:9-10

[9] When all the people saw him walking and praising God, [10] they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

b) from an ordinary fisherman to now preaching Christ enabled with signs & wonders from God

 Acts 3:12 ,16

[12] When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

[16] By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

When we also turned to God, our life has also been changed,

a) from having no hope of forgiveness to being wiped out of sin through Jesus (now having reconciliation and relationship with God as His children)

 Acts 3:19

[19] Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

b) from living a life of sin to a newness of heart able to turn away from old wicked ways  (now can live a new & different life from our old self)

 Acts 3:26

[26] When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

God truly gave us a newness of life. We have seen Him at work in our lives from the day of our encounter & faith in Jesus until now. Let us continuously remain in Him for the true newness of life is only found in Christ.

 John 8:12

[12] When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
