HE IS JESUS

Revelation 22:13

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

These titles only belong to God.

  • The one with the highest authority over His Kingdom and over us.     Daniel 4:17

  • The one who knows the deepest of the deepest of our hearts.

Psalm 38:9

  • The only one who can search out our whole and inner beings.

Proverbs 20:27

  • The one who knows our beginnings and ends.

 Isaiah 46:9-10

  • The one who knows our going and coming.

Psalm 121:8

  • The one who knows us better than ourselves.

Romans 8:27-37

He is JESUS.

  • He is before all things and will remain beyond all things. (Colossians 1:16-17)

  • He also has authority over everything in-between the beginning and the end. (Matthew 28:18)

  • He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

  • He holds the entire world, and everything therein, in His Holy Hands! Psalm 24:1-2

Verse 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Verses 17-18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, 18 and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

Let us reflect:

  • Who is Jesus in you?

  • How have you changed since the Alpha and the Omega took over your life?

  • Do you still worry about your future?

  • Do you still handle things on your own?

  • Do you still have self-preservation or totally surrender to Him?

  • Do you really allow Him to be the Lord over your life?

  • Do you now see all things in victory?

DEARLY LOVED

Gaius was a very common name in the Roman Empire. But as we read 3 John 1, this whole chapter was a letter of John written solely for Gaius. What made him exceptional and unique among other Gaius in his time? What’s something special to this letter?

John called Gaius as Dear Friend 4x in Verses 1,2, 5, 11 and in other translations as Beloved. It gives emphasis on how sincere he was  to Gaius in this letter and how he dearly loved him in Christ’ family.

1 The elder,

To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

What made Gaius a dear and beloved friend of John?

Keywords: FAITHFULNESS and TRUTH

  1. Walking in the truth (v.4)

  2. Faithfulness to the truth (v.3)

  3. Faith in action: love (v. 5-6)

Walking in Truth means:

  • to walk consistent with the truth you believe.

If you believe that you are saved, then walk like you are saved

If you believe that you are forgiven, then walk like you are forgiven

If you believe that you are healed, then walk like you are healed

I you believe that you are blessed, then walk like you are blessed

If you believe that you are a child of God, then walk like you are a child of God.

…………………..

  • to walk in a way that is real and genuine.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

Faithfulness to the Truth
  • When you walk in the truth consistently, you are proven faithful to the truth.

  • one is said to be faithful when there is consistency in what he is doing.

It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it.

Faith in Action
  • When you walk in the truth, you are to walk in love because love is faith in action.

  • Faith that is full of action is seen when it is accompanied by love and truth.

  • Love drives faith. Faith that causes us to move and do good works. This kind of faith is not dead (James 2:17)

Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters,[a] even though they are strangers to you. They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God.

These 3 points were visible to the life of Gaius. John knew that Gaius walked in the truth, faithful to the truth, and had acting faith because brethren came and testified of the truth that was in Gaius. His walk of truth was noticed by others in verses 3-7.

Reflections:

  • What makes you dearly loved by God and the family of God?

  • Are you walking in faith?

  • Are you walking as someone that you believe in?

  • What are the truths in the bible that you know?

  • Are you walking on those truths?

In faith, do not just choose between ‘’truth or dare’’. It should always be both. When you choose to believe in the truth of God, dare to do it. That is faith in action. Do it not only once or twice but continuously doing it. That is faithfulness in the truth. This is what made Gaius unique from other random Gaius out there!

How about you?

2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
